He claimed that if the trailer had released earlier, changes would have been made in the film Bala and not in his film Ujda Chaman. Later, when the film was announced, Pathak sent a notice to Maddock Films. In an interview he talked about this and said,
We are currently discussing with our team. We had sent notices to them in early 2019 when we had bought the rights as they were announced around the same time. I gave him all the documents as his film looked similar. He said that there is nothing in common except the character being bald and I accepted his words. But now it doesn’t seem so. The dialogues, the situation, everything feels the same and even people have caught on to it.”
