Arunabh Kumar was born on 16 November 1982 in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. His parents wanted Arunabh to get a better education and moved to another city to do so. They moved to 7-8 cities and then settled in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In Jaipur, he studied at Vidyashram School of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. After that, he moved to Takada to study IIT JEE. He passed this exam and got admission in Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur to graduate in B.Tech (Electrical Engineering).

career
After completing his IIT, Arunabh Kumar began his career as a research assistant in the United States Air Force in 2006. He didn’t like the job and left the job. After leaving his job as an engineer, Arnab joined Chillies Entertainment in 2017 as their assistant director, Red Hee. There, his job responsibilities included assisting with everything from walking on and off the road to making prints.
Arunabh was also the assistant director of Farah Khan’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. After this project, he had difficulty finding a permanent job to pay his bills. He tried his best to start his filmmaking career, but went bankrupt after three years of struggle. So he started shooting short AV and corporate videos for production companies and advertising agencies. This brought him a steady income, but he again tried his hand at filmmaking. Arunabh considered starting his own TV show, The Engineer’s Diary, and sent an offer to MTV. The broadcaster declined the offer, which led him to consider going online through his YouTube channel. He once talked about that rejection and how he started making his own TV show.
In 2019, Arunabh co-founded and is the CEO of Indusverse along with Alok Sharma and Saumin Patel. This company is dedicated to creating comics that address current issues in society.

Arunabh met Shruti Ranjan in 2013 at IIT Bombay, where she completed her master’s degree in environmental science. Both dated each other for a long time.
