When he was thirteen years old, his mother, knowing about his passion for the sport, gifted him a weight set. In 2008, he entered the NPC Junior USA Championships and won the competition. Cedric’s most notable win was the 2017 Arnold Classic Ohio, where he got the chance to meet his idol Arnold Schwarzenegger, who praised him for his classic physique. Despite setting up a bar at the Arnold Classic Ohio, McMillan was considered a poor performer in the Mr. Olympia finals.

Cedric McMillan died of a heart attack on April 12, 2022. Reportedly, he suffered a heart attack while he was on the treadmill. Confirming the news of his death, Black Skull USA, a supplement company that sponsors Macmillan, took to Instagram and wrote,

We are sorry to inform you that our friend and brother @cedricmcmillan passed away today. Cedric will be greatly missed as an athlete, comrade, friend and father.”
