Chandrashekhar Guruji was an Indian astrologer and spiritual and humanitarian leader, best known for his YouTube channel ‘Saral Vastu’, on which he gave astrological advice on lifestyle. On 5 July 2022, he was stabbed to death by two men at a private hotel in Hubballi district of Karnataka.
Chandrashekhar Virupakshaappa Angadi was born in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He also earned a doctorate degree in architecture. Dedicated to serving the nation since childhood, after completing secondary school, he went through the army selection process, but was rejected during the physical examination due to his low weight. In 1989, after completing his formal education, he moved to Mumbai, where he started his career as a civil engineer.
In 1998, he was cheated of Rs 15 lakh in business. Soon after, he was duped again for Rs 20 lakh. At that time the plans of a compass and a house started appearing again and again in his dreams. A revelation struck him in 2000 and his intuition guided him to integrate Vastu skills and astrology. Thereafter, he started observing the way houses were constructed in relation to the life related problems faced by the family members.

He guided his followers on a wide range of topics such as business, new construction, education, career, money, marriage, relationships and health. As of 2022, he had 12.9K followers on his channel. Apart from the channel, he had also launched a mobile application of the same name. In 2002, he established CG Parivar Pvt Ltd. CG Parivar Group is the parent company under which CG Parivar, Manavguru, Saral Vastu, and CG Parivar IT Solutions Private Limited (CGPITS) operate. The other directors of the company are Mahantesh Basavaraj Komanoor and Santosh Shivputrappa Angadi. While Saral Vastu and Manavguru specialize in the field of Vastu Shastra or Vastu Vigyan, CGPITS is an IT solutions firm that provides services such as consulting, digital marketing and content development. Apart from India, Manavguru’s branch offices are located in the United States, Singapore and Canada.
On 19 January 2013, he became the director of A1 Polytrade & Mfg Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of rubber products. On 4 October 2012, he became the director of C Guruji Infrabuild Pvt Ltd, which is involved in building construction. In addition, he is a Designated Director at CG Parivar Solutions LLP and an Additional Director at CG Parivar Foundation and Research Centre. Under Manav Guru, Guruji has initiated various philanthropic programs such as Jeevan Samasha Mukt Gram, Shikshan Problem Mukt Gram, Mass Marriage, and Prevention of Farmer Suicide. Under the Shikshan Sanskar Mukta Village Programme, Manavguru started a school for underprivileged students in 2018 in B Shigigatti village of Kalaghatgi taluk, Dharwad district of Karnataka. Mass marriage focused on organizing mass marriage ceremonies for the underprivileged sections of the society. Farmer suicide prevention helped distressed farmers. In 2015, Manavguru adopted Godachi village in Belagavi district of Karnataka, after which it underwent social and economic transformation. In August 2018, he started a mass movement called Saral Shiksha Abhiyan. Another movement started by him is the Human Growth Campaign. He is the founding trustee of Sharansankul Charitable Trust.
In 2019, Suresh Namdev More, a resident of Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Thane, Maharashtra, filed a complaint against Chandrashekhar Angadi with the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, alleging that he had suffered huge losses due to Saral Vastu services. The complainant claimed that he had bought astrological products worth Rs 10,000 which included crystals, a tortoise plate, pyramids, mirrors etc. However, the Redressal Commission held that progress depends on the subjective satisfaction of the individual which cannot be assessed. Therefore, Chandrashekhar Angadi was not entitled to pay any compensation to the complainant.
On 5 July 2022 at 12:23 pm, Chandrashekhar Guruji was stabbed to death by two men, Manjunath Marevad and Mahantesh Sirur, at a private hotel in Hubballi district of Karnataka. Later the body was sent to KIMS Hospital for post-mortem. After the murder, the criminals who fled the spot after committing the murder were arrested in Ramadurga, Belagavi, Karnataka.

According to a source, Manjunath Marevad and Mahantesh Sirur were former employees of Guruji in ‘Saral Vastu’ and had some financial issues with them. Earlier, his employees had staged a sit-in alleging non-payment of salaries for months. Another source revealed that Guruji had helped an employee named Vanjakshi to marry Mahantesh Shirur, after which he gave them a flat to live in. However, after Mahantesh quit the job, Guruji asked the couple to return the flat, which led to a conflict.
