Deion Smith was born on May 23, 1996, in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, to Herbert Smith and Minnie Smith. He has two elder brothers named Terence Antonio and Aaron Smith. Smith completed his schooling from Westside High School, South Carolina. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Smith was fond of acting since childhood. He made his acting debut in Blue Play as a lead actor. In 2013, he appeared in the TV film Saving Westbrook High alongside Loretta Devine, Esai Morales and Sallie Richardson-Whitfield. In 2020, he appeared in the Netflix teen drama series Outer Banks.
