Gaurav Khanna was born on 11 December 1980 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is Vinod Khanna and mother’s name is Sakshi Khanna. He has an elder sister in the family. Khanna is currently living in Mumbai due to his passion for acting. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Khanna started his acting career on television in the year 2004. Initially, he appeared in supporting roles in television serials like Kusum and Siddhant. But later gained popularity with the television serial Bhabhi in which he played the role of Bhuvan Sarin. He later starred in the role of Sharman Wadhwa in Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.
During 2007–2010, Khanna acted in several TV serials like Meri Doli Tere Angana, Ardhangini- Jeevan Saathi, Luv Ne Mila Di Jodi and Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam. In 2012, she played the lead role in the television drama Biyah Hamari Bahu Ka. Recently he appeared as Anuj Kapadia in Star Plus’s television serial Anupama opposite Rupali Ganguly.
