Girija Oak Godbole was born on 27 December 1987 in a Hindu Brahmin family in Nagpur, Maharashtra. His father’s name is Girish Oak. His father is a famous Marathi actor and his mother is a pharmacist. He completed his degree in Biotechnology from Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai. She also joined a theater workshop and started acting in advertisements.

Girija wanted to become an actress from an early age. He started his acting career in 2007 with the Hindi film Taare Zameen Par. In 2009, she appeared in the Marathi film Gosht Choti Dongrewadi. She also appeared in the Marathi television serial Lajja. She later acted as Meghna Nikade in Sony Entertainment Television serial Ladies Special.
Meanwhile, Girija also appeared in 2009 Kannada comedy film Housefull opposite Diganth, Hemant Hegde. In 2010, she appeared in the movie Happa Haiyya followed by Edgula Madgula in 2011.
