Huntergirl (real name: Hunter Volkonowski) is an American singer and songwriter. She is one of the finalists on the 20th season of ABC’s singing reality show American Idol. Hunter is originally from Gruetley-Lagger, Tennessee. She is currently working for music therapy organizations to help turn veterans’ stories into songs.
Biography
Huntergirl was born on 22 May 1998 in Gruetley-Lagar. He studied the recording industry and music business from Middle Tennessee State University. Hunter began performing at his grandfather’s church at the age of three and began writing originals. She has performed across the United States, and won the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown at the age of fifteen.
After high school, Hunter moved to Nashville and began playing his signature Ovation guitar at gigs at downtown venues such as Tootsie’s, Rippies, Crazy Town, Jason Aldeans Bar, The Listening Room, and Honky Tonk Central.
