Iman Vellani is a Pakistani-Canadian actress. She went on to become a Marvel superhero and made her on-screen debut with an OTT mini-series that released on 8 June 2022. She was also cast for the next Marvel film, The Marvels.


Iman Vellani was born on Tuesday, 3 September 2002.age 19 years; by 2021) in Karachi, Pakistan. Her parents moved with her to Canada when she was one year old. He completed his graduation from Unionville High School in Ontario, Canada. After graduation, she had plans to attend the Ontario College of Art and Design University to study Integrated Media, but could not.

The Miss Marvel series was announced in August 2019. Vellani gave a Zoom audition for the lead character and her audition was highlighted by Sana Amanat, a character developer at Marvel and a co-creator of Kamala Khan’s character. In 2020, he directed two short films including Push and I Don’t Want to Be Alone. In September 2020, Vellani cleared the audition for the role of Kamala Khan as a superhero in Miss Marvel, a Disney+ and Marvel Studios mini-series. In this mini-series, he co-starred Yasmin Fletcher, Mohan Kapoor, Laurel Marsden, Matt Lintz, Azhar Usman, Zenobia Shroff and Sagar Shaikh.

In June 2022, she also appeared in A Fan’s Guide to Miss Marvel, a short documentary film that included interviews with the film production team and Vellani. She made her on-screen debut on 8 June. Both the mini-series and Vellani’s performance were appreciated by the audience and received many positive reviews. This mini-series was released as part of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), to form a premise for The Marvels, the next film in the franchise. Vellani has also been cast in the film The Marvels, which is slated to release on 28 July 2023.

  • She is a big fan of Iron Man and can recite the first five minutes of the first Iron Man sequel.
  • There are Marvel posters all around her bedroom. At her Zoom Call audition for Ms. Marvel, she showed her entire room to co-executive producer Sana Amanat. In an interview Amanat said,

    He showed me every corner of his room, and it was covered in Avengers. Then he said, ‘Oh wait, I’m not done,’ he opened his cupboard, and there were more miracles everywhere.’

  • In her teens, she read Ms. Marvel an American comic book and became a huge fan of Kamal Khan’s character. After playing the lead role in the Ms. Marvel series, she spoke about it and said,

    She liked me a lot, and a lot of it not only comes from her background and ethnicity, but because she’s such a fan of the Marvel universe as well.’
