He graduated from Tom C Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas in 2001. He later attended the Juilliard School for Theatre.

Collins began her career in 2005 by playing the role of Natalie Harper in the TV show Ghost Whisperer, which aired on CBS. The following year, she was seen as Nikki Newsom in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and as Lizzie Miller in The Nine. Meanwhile, he also starred in the television film The Man as Constance Briel, starring Joshua Bitton and Eric Bruscotter.
