Lakshmi started her career as a television presenter on the talk of the town show for Gemini TV in the year 1997. He hosted various television shows like Sunday Sandadi on ETV Telugu, Manoyaganam serial for ETV Telugu, Saradha serial for Gemini TV, Brain of Andhra. For MAA TV, Pelli Pustakam for MAA TV etc. Along with this, he is actively active on the film industry. Jhansi made her film debut in 1997 with Egire Pavurma. She was featured as Aruna in the 1998 rom-com film Pelli Peetlu. She played the role of Prasad’s wife in the movie Chandralekha.
In 1999, she appeared as Gauri in the film Ravoi Chandam starring alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni, Anjala Jhaveri and Jagapathi Babu. She later starred in the 2000 action-drama film Manoharam as Anand’s younger sister.
