Kranti Prakash Jha was born on 2 November 1988 in Ratoli, Begusarai. His father Late Dr. Devchandra Jha, was an RDDE in Bihar Education Service and posted in Purnia, Bihar. Kranti went to Parora Residential Middle School, Purnia and St MG High School, Begusarai. He graduated from Hindu College with a major in History.

Kranti started his career as an actor with theater plays. He joined the theater group Avikal and Actors Cult. He then appeared in several TV commercials for brands such as Hyundai Accent, Panasonic, Nokia, Pepsodent and VIP.
Kranti made her debut in films in 2011 and acted in Bhojpuri film Deswa. He was seen in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. Kranti gained recognition in 2016 with the biographical sports film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. He played the role of Santosh Jha, an Indian cricketer and Dhoni’s childhood friend in the film. Some other movies are Once Upon a Time in Bihar, Mithila Makhan, Kashi in Search of Ganga and Batla House.
