Makarand Padhya is an Indian actor, dialogue writer, director, producer and photographer. He is famous for playing the character of Bal Thackeray In the 2022 biopic, ‘Dharamveer’, directed by Praveen Tarde.

Makarand Padhyay was born in Mumbai. He did his schooling at Mumbai’s Chabildas Lallubhai Boys High School and then he studied arts at Ruparel College. From 1986 to 1991, he studied at Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai.

Theater
Makrand has acted in several theater plays and has worked with the Rabindra Natya Mandir, Savitribai Phule Natya Sabhagraha, and several theatres. In 2005, he acted in a Marathi drama drama ‘Bachch Ekka Ghadi Bhar Paika’ directed by Pandurang Kulkarni. She acted with Pandurang Kulkarni in the Marathi language comedy drama ‘Agabai Solva Waris Dhokyacha’, which was released on 28 November 2005.

In 2019, he acted in the Marathi film Fafuta. The story of the film is based on farmers and water resources including politics.
