I was already so (mentally) tired when I became creative director. I worked so much I used to make four to five music videos a month and release four to five albums. I used to joke with my team at the time that if I was on a survival show I might have come first. I never really went on a proper vacation. I sent my team members on leave but it was very difficult for me to go. I was badly burned and was thinking that I should leave. But I felt that the company would not let me go. So when I first told the lead producer, we cried together. Then I also thought, ‘Why is it so painful to live?’ I had severe self-inflicted pain and was really hard on myself. Of course, there were happy moments but during those moments I would think, ‘Is this happiness?’ So I continued on my way to leave the company.”
