Peter Albers was born on Monday, 11 May 1970 (age 52 years; by 2022) in Shidham, South Holland. There he attended De Single – Primo Shidam School for his early education. In 1987, he went to Fontes University of Applied Sciences in Venlo to graduate in Logistics Management and passed out in 1991. Thereafter, he did his Masters in Business Administration from the Open University of the Netherlands. In 2006, he also attended Columbia Business School in Columbia, South America to pursue executive education.

In 1992, he started his career in KLM in 1992 as a Schiphol Handling Executive and held this position for three years. After serving in various executive roles, he was promoted to the position of General Manager Mediterranean at KLM in 2000. In 2002, he became general manager of the Japan and Korea region and held the position for three years. In 2005, he became Senior Vice President of Networks and Alliances and handled the design and development of KLM’s international network for 140 routes. During that time, his roles and responsibilities also included expanding joint ventures and partnerships with existing partners and forging new partnerships.
