Prakash Belawadi is an Indian actor, activist and journalist. He mainly works in Hindi and Kannada film industry. Belwadi has participated in many seminars, conferences and festivals in India and abroad. Since 2010, he has also been the mentor of the founding team of BISFF (Bangalore International Kurzfilm Festival). He has acted in many popular movies like Kanuru Heggadithi, Meri Pyaari Bindu, Solo and Dayavittu Gamanisi, Atagara, Talwar, Kiragura Gayaligalu.

Prakash Belavadi was born in Bangalore, Mysore state (now Karnataka) into a family of theater artist. His father was Belavadi Nanjundaiah Narayan, a Kannada theater star who also appeared in films and worked as a make-up artist. While his mother Bhargavi is a well-known actress of cinema and theater.
Belwadi completed her early education at Mahila Seva Samaj and secondary education at National High School. Later he did pre-university course from National College, Bangalore. In 1983, he graduated from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

career
Belavadi always wanted to become an actor like his parents. He started working in theater and films at an early age. He acted as a child artist in the Kannada film Bangaravyithu in the year 1976. Belavadi started his professional acting career in 1999 with the Kannada film Kanuru Heggadithi directed by Girish Karnad.
He rose to fame with his appearance as Bala in the Hindi film Madras Cafe, directed by Shoojit Sircar and starring John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri and Raashi Khanna. Later he acted in various movies like Youngistaan, Talwar, Uttam Villain, Wazir etc. He came into the limelight of Bollywood after playing the pivotal role of George Kutty in the Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift. Belawadi has acted in over 200 films and theater plays in a career spanning 40 years. Recently he has worked in web series like High and Smoke.
