Rochelle Rao was born on 25 November 1988 to a Catholic Christian father and an Anglo-Indian mother. His father Dr. N.V. Rao is a medical consultant on herbal extracts, and his mother’s name is Wendy Rao. He has twin brother and one sister.
Rao holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Media from MOP Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai. Before entering the world of glamor, Rao competed at Pantaloons Miss India South and finished as runner-up. After participating in the beauty pageant, Rao worked as an anchor for season 6 of the Indian Premier League.

Rao participated in Femina Miss India in 2012 and won the title of Femina Miss India International, along with three subtitles, “Miss Glamorous Diva,” “Miss Ramp Walk,” and “Miss Body Beautiful.” She later participated in the Kingfisher Calendar Girls, where she was chosen as one of the 12 finalists.
She rose to prominence after appearing as Lottery in the comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show. In 2014, she appeared in Season 5 of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. She was the second contestant to be eliminated from the show. She appeared in late 2014 in Fox Life’s Life Ek Baar alongside Evelyn Sharma and Mehak Chahal, an adventure travel show. Rao has always been a self-reliant young lady who started working shortly after her graduation. She had worked as an anchor in several TV shows and had done a lot of modeling ventures.
