Discrimination on the grounds of religion and nepotism in the music industry

I guess my dress and my name allow them to check me multiple times at Mumbai airport. What do you say? Guys? Is it fair?” He captioned the image, “I love my India” then tagged the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi And added the hashtags #jyotiraoscindia and #uddhavthackeraysaheb.
In an interview, he also talked about the struggles he faced with nepotism when he first came to Mumbai. he said,
People coming from small towns have to face all kinds of problems. Firstly, they don’t know the streets of studios and production houses. And then, there is the mingling of the language, food and environment of this city. When people see you speaking in your language like Punjabi or Rajasthani, people take you for granted and don’t think you deserve an opportunity.”
Everyone who leaves their city to come to Mumbai has to face these problems and nothing has been different for me. But I came to Mumbai with my entire family. So, my struggles were a bit high.”
When asked if he still felt like an outsider, he replied,
Yes, definitely! But I am thankful that I got some great opportunities here and people liked my work. And I think there is a need to keep moving forward instead of looking back.
Opinions about remix culture
In an interview, when asked about sharing his opinion about the remixing culture in the Bollywood industry
Of course, making remixes is easy. Making pizza from bread is easy but making bread is difficult. Bread needs to be made, and only after that you can put pizza stuffing on it.
I think only those songs should be remixed which have been forgotten by the public or songs by music directors, singers and lyricists who have gone to heaven. Old songs are a legacy. It is like an old building that needs to be rebuilt. There is nothing wrong with it, but due credit should be given to the original makers.”
Now, a song originally sung is ‘Aankh Mare’ Kumar Sanu, He will be watching the remix version of it on TV. The lyricist will also be alive and probably watching it on TV. How would they feel seeing their work being used without giving them due credit? We sell the rights to these music companies and then they do whatever they want. Quite a bad situation. Indian music needs to be preserved.”
