In 2016, during the Maharashtra Aerial Weapons Competition; Shahu Mane won three gold medals in the state level shooting competition. Later in 2016, Shahu Mane was selected to participate in the 62nd School National Games and School State Games held in Telangana and Mumbai respectively. In 2017, Shahu Mane made his international debut at the 10th Asian Airgun Championship in Japan. There, he was awarded two medals.

In the same year, in Mumbai, Shahu Mane participated in two shooting competitions named Prabhakar Desai Shooting Competition and Maharashtra Shooting Sports Competition. Later in 2017, Shahu Mane participated in the 61st National Shooting Sports Competition held in Trivandrum. Shahu Mane won the gold medal in the Lakshya Cup shooting competition in 2018. In the same year, he qualified to participate in the Khelo India Youth Games 2018.

After participating in the Khelo India Youth Games in 2018, Shahu Mane participated in the Hubli Open Shooting Championship, which was held in West Bengal. By the end of the competition, Shahu had won three gold medals and one trophy.

From 6 October 2018 to 18 October 2018, Shahu Mane competed in his second international competition, the Youth Olympic Games, held in Bueno Aires, Argentina. There he won a silver medal in the 10m air rifle shooting event. Shahu claimed that he was not happy with the silver medal as he had trained extensively to win the gold medal. In an interview, Shahu Mane said,

The crowd was overzealous, and as a result I got distracted. I tried my best to maintain my focus, but the cheering crown took up a better part of my attention. I am not happy with the silver medal at all. I had hoped to get a gold because I had prepared for it for a long time.”

After winning a silver medal for India in the Youth Olympic Games, in 2018, Shahu Mane called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modiwho congratulated him on his achievement.

In 2019, Shahu Mane was awarded a gold medal in the 10m air rifle event at the International Shooting Competition held in Hanover, Germany. In 2021, Shahu Mane participated in the Sheikh Russell International Shooting Championship in Bangladesh. There he won a silver medal in the 10m Air Rifle event.

Shahu Mane and his mixed doubles teammate on 13 July 2022, Mehuli GhoshWon gold medal in 10m air rifle event at ISSF Shooting World Cup held in South Korea. Both won the competition by defeating the Hungarian team 17–13.

  • Shahu Mane had claimed in an interview that he likes football. He also said that he could not pursue it as a professional sport due to his parents who did not support him in taking it as a career as he believed that as a sport in India There is no scope for football. He said in his interview,

    I wanted to pursue football as a professional sport. I am still a hardcore fan of the game. But my parents did not support me as they believed that there is no scope for this sport in India. So I decided to take up shooting as a career.”

  • Once giving an interview, Shahu Mane said that he took up shooting as a sport to develop a hobby, and had no intention of making a professional career in the sport. Shahu said in an interview,

    My coach recognized me as a good shot and told me to pursue it. What started out as a simple hobby I never fathomed, which I will so diligently explore for years to come. I have always had a passion for sports and love how shooting gave me a sense of belonging, apart from bringing in the fun of competition, which I cherish a lot. ,

  • In an interview to ESPN, Shahu Mane claimed that he idolizes ace Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra, and it was only after seeing him play, that Shahu decided to pursue a professional career in sports shooting.
