Shiva Kumar Subramaniam aka Shiva Subramaniam was an Indian actor, playwright, theater artist, film and drama director and screenwriter, who played the role of Alia BhattHer father in the Hindi film ‘2 States’ (2014). He passed away on 10 April 2022 due to prolonged illness and pancreatic cancer.

He made his debut as an actor-screenwriter-assistant director with the Hindi film ‘Parinda’ (1989). He played the role of Francis in the film.
Some of his popular Hindi movies as an actor are ‘1942: A Love Story’ (1994), ‘Kaminey’ (2009) as Lobo, ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ (2011), ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’ (2011). ) Huh. and ‘Hiccup’ (2018).
He worked as a screenwriter in Hindi films such as ‘1942: A Love Story’ (story and screenplay; 1994), ‘Arjun Pandit’ (screenplay; 1999), ‘Chameli’ (screenplay; 2003), and ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’. Due to prolonged illness due to pancreatic cancer, he breathed his last on 10 April 2022. His last rites were performed at Mokshadham Hindu Crematorium, Caesar Road, Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai. On his death, Pakistani journalist, artist and filmmaker Bina Sarwar tweeted,
