Suraj Thelakkad is an Indian actor, comedian and mimicry artist, known for his work in the Malayalam film and television industry. He is suffering from a physical condition called dwarfism.
Suraj Thelakkad was born on Monday, 4 September 1995.age 26 years; by 2021) at Perintalamanna, Kerala. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He did his primary education at Government LP School, Thelakkad, after which he completed his schooling from GHS Vengur. He graduated from St. Mary’s College Puthanangadi with B.Com. Inspired by his father, who enjoyed doing mimicry, Sooraj took up mimicry for the first time at the age of 10 in class 5th. Later he did M.Com. He started his career as an impressionist and mimicry artist. She made her debut in 2015 with the Malayalam film Charlie, directed by Martin Prakat. In 2017, he did cameos in Cappuccino, Udaharanam Sujatha and Vimanam. He rose to fame with the lead role of Robot in the film Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (2019) directed by Ratheesh Poduval.
Initially, it was believed that the team of the film had used real robots for the shoot. Sooraj hid the fact that he was a robot for at least 45 days. After revealing the true identity of Andyur Kunjappan, social media was flooded with posts appreciating Sooraj. Various celebrities like Guinness Pakru took to their Facebook handles to wish him. In an interview, Sooraj revealed that he used to take an hour every day to dress up like the android Kunjappan and that a special chair was placed for him to rest in the robot costume. He added,
During the shoot, I was exhausted because the robot costume was unbearably hot. Within four days I developed cough and cold due to sweating. My co-actor Sooraj told me that it would be better if I shave my hair. At first I was not ready, but eventually I decided to go for a shaved look for Kunjappan.
Sooraj also acted in films like Oru Adaar Love (2019), Ambili (2019), Dhamaka (2020) etc.
His breakthrough in television came with Cinema Chirima, a comedy show that aired on Majhavil Manorama. He started doing television in 2012 as a supporting cast in Bhim Jewels Comedy Festival Season 1, which aired on Majhavil Manorama. He starred in the comedy Super Knight franchise from 2015 to 2018. He did shows like Comedy Nights with Sooraj (2019), Funny Nights with Pearle Mane (2020) and Comedy Stars Season 2 (2014) as a comedian.
He entered Bigg Boss (Malayalam Season 4) as a contestant in 2022.

- In an interview, Sooraj said,
When I was in high school, I wasn’t even 90 cm tall. It is now 110 cm. Despite my physical limitations, I was given opportunities and looked down upon because of my short stature. ,
- According to some media reports, doctors said that both Sooraj and his sister have stunted growth due to a genetic problem. His father and mother were reportedly distant relatives. In an interview he said,
Me and my sister are like this. This is a growth hormone problem. Father and mother are related. Their marriage was not romantic but arranged marriage. One day my father called me and said that you will not grow up anymore and move ahead in life through art or any other ability. Friends are bigger than us. My father says these things when he sees them all and understands them all.
- Suraj built a house according to his height. His previous house, which was owned by his father, became dilapidated. The new house which is specially built for Suraj and his sister has shelves, cabinets, switches and chairs according to their height for their convenience. This house has been completed at a cost of Rs 17 lakh.
