Desai made her first appearance in the second season of the reality TV competition Get Gorgeous. She has been modeling since 2007 and has appeared in over 100 commercials. She used to work as a model for Elite Model India Management. Tina started her career in 2011 with the thriller film Yeh Faasle as Arunima D Dua. She appeared in the action-comedy film Sahi Dhande Galat Bande in 2011 as Neha Sharma.
In 2012, she played a cameo role of a waitress in the film Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. Desai starred as Sunaina in the 2012 English film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. She rose to fame by playing the role of Siya Agasti in Table No 21 opposite Rajeev Khandelwal and Paresh Rawal. She appeared in the sequel film The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in 2015. In the same year, she starred as Megha in the comedy thriller film Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene in 2015.
