Yalamanchili Satyanarayan Choudhary aka Sujana Choudhary or Sujana Choudhary was born on 2 June 1961.age 60 years; by 2021) in Kanchikcheriya village, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. He is currently living at Lodhi Estate, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. In 1984, Shri YS Choudhary completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad. He then did his Masters in Machine Tool Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in 1986.

Shri YS Choudhary was named after his grandfather, a retired IPS officer. His father, Y Janardhana Rao, was a superintendent engineer in the Government of Andhra Pradesh, working with the AP Irrigation and Power Department.

Shri YS Chowdhury’s political career began in 2010, after being elected to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Since then, he has been a part of several parliamentary committees and was even appointed as the Minister of State for Science and Technology, and Earth Sciences in 2014. Due to his popularity and social welfare work, his political career went ahead and became the most popular. Shri YS Choudhary has adopted two villages Ponnavaram and Palaparu under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) programme. Ponnavaram village is 60 km from Vijayawada in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. As part of the programme, he has taken several initiatives to transform the area into a model village. Over the years, they have set up digital classrooms in local government schools and also developed the village’s medical and infrastructure facilities by building toilets, paved roads, etc.
Mr. YS Choudhary established the Sujana Charitable Trust in 2007 to support two schools in Chennai for specially-abled children. Through this trust he also supported old age homes in Hyderabad. It also provides scholarships and merit awards to students for excellence in the fields of sports, social entrepreneurship, education, engineering, agriculture, rural development and poverty alleviation.
